Porcelain or ceramic veneers are a relatively simple option to improve any smile. Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of extremely strong tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth with a bonding technique. Veneers look like natural teeth and can be used to correct staining, misalignment, discoloration, chipping or cracking, and virtually any other cosmetic defect. Veneers can also eliminate incorrect spacing or gaps between the teeth. Our goal is to achieve perfect symmetry and color that fits ideally and uniquely into each mouth through a custom planning process. We carefully plan each situation through a series of photographs, wax ups, and test drives in the mouth to assure that we are achieving the ideal result before beginning the process.
Ceramic Veneers are beautiful and natural-looking and are strong and long-lasting. Veneers also require less tooth structure to be removed than a crown and in some situations can be placed with very little to no alteration of natural tooth enamel. Veneers maintain their natural vibrancy for years and will not easily stain.
Preparing for Veneers
It is important that the teeth are healthy before veneers are placed. Any disease or decay should be treated prior to veneer placement. It is very important that regular dental visits and professional hygiene care be maintained in order to keep the teeth and gums healthy and to assure the longevity of the veneers.
