Sites to see in Pocatello
Pleasant Pocatello, Idaho makes a great place to live. It also makes a wonderful place to visit. I know because I’ve been here many times. I come here with meet with old friends and make new ones. Each time, I see something new that makes me think about my life and the world around me differently. The last time I was here, it was as part of fun bike trip. I love to get out on the road and let the wind rip through my hair when I’m peddling. Getting into town meant revising old favorites and seeing some sites I’d never seen before. One of the many delights of this city is that it is a city where things happen. It’s never, ever the same visit twice.
Natural History
I love nature and natural history. There’s no better place to explore the natural world of the area than at the Idaho Museum of Natural History. Located on the grounds of the state university, the museum is set in the middle of the beautiful campus. It’s easy to park your bike and head right inside for a visit that is about loving the areas even more. This is an excellent place to get to know the history of the region. The hands on displays always encourage people to learn to use all of their senses to discover new information. Exhibits are always easy to follow. This is worth at least several hours. It makes a nice change from being on the back of a bike.
Fun Shopping
When traveling, I like to find new treasures to buy. It’s always great to find something you haven’t seen before. The Westwood Mall is another of my favorite places to see in Pocatello. It’s where I like to find new things to add to my fitness routine. The large mall also makes it easy to stretch out my legs in a relaxing place after an hour or two behind the bike. There’s a tremendous variety of stores with all sort of items. It’s a fantastic place to strike up a conversation with locals who are happy to share their love of this small but incredibly vibrant city.
Eating and Drinking
After a long day of riding, I want something fills me up. I also want something fabulous to drink. This is why I have a few go-to places in Pocatello. For dinner, I like the luscious ribs at the Sandpiper Restaurant. It’s perfect for a group of people as you can split lots of large orders. This way, everyone has something to pick from. You don’t have to worry about reservations. Another place I also like for dinner is the Portneuf Valley Brewing. It’s the only place in the area you can find the kind of micro-brews I love. There’s also live music almost every single night. I like to come here and relax as I explore the wonderfully varied menu with a nice cold dark beer.
