Alameda and the Suburbs of Pocatello Idaho
Pocatello, Idaho is a large Metropolitan area of Bannock County,made up of four adjacent suburbs located in a large valley in the southeastern part of the state. Furthest suburb to Pocatello is the small town of Tyhee, situated 9 miles due North. The city of Alameda boundaries north 4 miles of Pocatello which centers between both Pocatello and the town Chubbuck. Chubbuck is nearby just 3 miles south of Tyhee. Pocatello, given the title “Gateway to the Northwest” is proud to be the chief city for Idaho State University ISU about 3 miles on the northeast corner from downtown Pocatello.
Positioned right off of Interstate 86 just 10 miles northwest from these four areas is the Pocatello Regional Airport conveniently placed for travelers flying in to journey to their destinations. The region of Alameda and Pocatello is sort of shaped as a obtuse triangle with three Highway systems bordering along the outskirts of the cities. Interstate 86 runs east and west from Route 15 which cuts between the city of Chubbuck and Alameda. Routes 91 runs north and south giving you access throughout each city internally connecting Tyhee all the way to Route 31 in Pocatello. Route 31 runs north west at the base of town from Interstate 15 to Interstate 86. Travel down Interstate 86 heading west from the metros a vacation awaits at the great Snake River averaging only 17 miles out. Encircled by mountain peaks, Pocatello is not far from its historical landmarks such as Portneuf Gap, Fort Hall reservation. Venture 19 miles south by way of Interstate 15 you will come to Indian Rock State Park.

Pocatello offers a fresh farmer’s market located over on the west side of the Union Pacific railroad tracks just a few miles off of Route 31.
